A. Lighting installed with “do-it-yourself” kits always produce disappointing results. These kits use inferior materials with a useful life of between 6 months and two years. Our systems continue to operate without corrosion or breakage year after year and continue to operate perfectly for the lifetime of your home. Also, while you may have good intentions to create your own lighting design, our experienced designers have gone through extensive training and apprenticeship. Their lighting designs are masterful in revealing the beauty that exists in your home and landscape while creating a beautiful interplay between light and shadow. Hiring NightScapes is akin to commissioning a work of art that is both experiential and transforming. The difference between "do-it-yourself" lighting and NightScapes lighting is like night and day (pardon the pun).
Q. Why do I need landscape lighting?
A. Why invest your hard-earned money into landscaping that disappears when night falls? Professionally installed lighting creates a glowing nighttime environment that welcomes you and your guests, and impresses passers-by. Q. Why not have my landscaper, irrigation company or handy man install my outdoor lighting?
A. NightScapes installers are professional electricians. Why would you want anyone else installing electrical products on your property? We do not need to call in someone else if you need 120 volt lighting, a circuit for the low voltage lighting transformer, or any other repair or addition to your existing electrical installation. You deserve fully insured, experienced and well trained installers working around your family or customers.
Q. What is the average cost for a professionally designed and installed outdoor lighting system?
A. The cost for outdoor lighting systems can be as diverse as the property itself. For this reason, we provide customized proposals with no cost or obligation. For budgeting purposes, most basic systems to illuminate the front of a home start at $3,500.00. Landscape lighting will run approximately 10% of what you spend on landscaping your yard. We provide a proposal broken down by area so you can choose a complete system or have the lighting installed is stages as your budget allows.
Q. Will the installation destroy my lawn and landscape?
A. Low voltage lighting can be installed with minimal disturbance to existing landscape. Most low voltage wiring is installed directly in the ground without conduit by hand. Only in rare cases will equipment be necessary. When our installers leave the only thing you will see is the beauty of your new lighted property!
Q. Will my outdoor lighting require extensive maintenance?
A. We use only long life lamps of the highest quality and even with these lamps your greatest concern will be lamp replacement. Lamp life will be determined by the operating time you choose and conditions will vary lamp life greatly. Every NightScapes installation includes the first years’ service plan at no additional cost. We will come out in the Spring and Fall after your installation and replace burned out lamps, adjust fixtures which may have been knocked around by maintenance work and reset the timer as necessary. NightScapes offers a WORRY FREE service agreement for each year after the first year for your convenience.
